Rock star Avril Lavigne is engaged to American singer, songwriter Mod Sun after just over one year of dating.
“Oui! Je t’aime pour toujours 🤍💍🥂Dimanche. 27. Mars. 2022,” Lavigne, 37, captioned photos of the couple in Paris during their engagement, which translated from French into English means, “Yes! I love you forever 💍🥂 Sunday March 27, 2022.”
“love u so much! Forever n ever my angel,” he wrote on her post. The 35-year-old singer also dedicated a poem to his future wife on his own page announcing the news.
“The day we met I knew you were the one.
Together forever til our days are done.
I had a dream where I proposed in paris.
I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it.
I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes.
You’re too beautiful for my words to describe.
I grabbed your hand + took one last breath…
I said ‘will you marry me?’ + she said ‘yes.’”
“I love you Avril ❤️,” he concluded.
The few photos from their Paris engagement feature Mod Sun down on one knee in front of the Eiffel Tower and they can be seen smiling and kissing as the “Complicated” singer shows off her heart-shaped engagement ring.
Mod Sun eariler on dated Bella Thorne and Tana Mongeau, while Avril was previously married to rock group Sum 41’s singer Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2010. Soon after their divorce was concluded, she dated Brody Jenner for two years and then 2013 she went on to marry Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger, a union which also ended in divorce.
Avril Lavigne also dated billionaire Phillip Sarofim for one year which their break up happened in 2019.
Word of a relationship between Mod Sun and Lavigne began when the singer was spotted February 2021 with an “Avril” tattoo on the back of his neck soon after releasing their collaboration, “Flames.”
The couple has since doubled down on the PDA for paparazzi cameras on several occasions, including during a birthday date at the beach and on the 2021 VMAs red carpet.
