Registered sex offender R. Kelly has been found guilty of 6 of the 13 charges he faced in his federal case in Illinois — the jury came back with its verdict a short while ago.
Recalling, Robert Kelly was facing charges of child pornography and prosecutors also claimed he was concealing video evidence from his 2008 case and threatening witnesses.
The federal trial recently got underway last month, with prosecutors accusing the R&B icon of videotaping sexual encounters with minors.
As reported, R. Kelly’s trial included amazing testimony with his former goddaughter accusing the singer of having sex with her hundreds of times before her 18th birthday, with their first sexual encounter happening when she was just 15 years old.
The singer’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, told the jury Kelly was “imperfect” but stands by her belief that he was innocent.
A juror suffered a panic attack on Monday, but the trial continued on as the judge put the alternate juror in her place.
Kelly will be sentenced in this case at a later date. Kelly’s has already been previously charged and convicted of federal sex crimes in New York and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
