Singer Christina Aguilera unfollowed pop star Britney Spears on Instagram over a recent controversial post that body-shamed the “Can’t Hold Us Down” singer’s backup dancers.
The social media disconnect came shortly after Britney, 40, posted a long caption on Monday afternoon that stated in part, “If I had Christina Aguilera’s dancers I would have looked extremely small.”

The “Crazy” singer pinned the post alongside a quote attributed to Rodney Dangerfield that read, “I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people.”
Britney’s post, which still remained on her page as of Tuesday morning, received a lot of backlash.
“Body shaming others is not the move,” one IG user commented.
“You need to delete this,” another advised.
“This is rude. I’m disappointed, Britney,” another fan wrote.
“No need to put another woman down to feel better about yourself. Focus on your healing,” one more advised.
Besides Aguilera unfollowing her longtime pop rival, she hasn’t publicly responded to the post criticizing her dancers’ bodies.
Britney Spears has yet to shy away from boldly calling out anyone and everyone since a judge ended her conservatorship in November 2021 which allows her to speak freely for the first time in over a decade.
She has called out her parents and other family members, Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, and her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, also including exes such as Kevin Federline and Justin Timberlake.
This week Britney admitted to her followers that she “subconsciously” wants to “offend people” because she has “been so f–king offended” throughout her life during her conservatorship, which put her father Jamie, 70, in control of his daughter’s personal, medical and financial decisions.
