Singer Taylor Swift’s new album Midnights was released on Oct. 21,2022 and there’s all types of reviews around it. This is the superstar’s first release of brand new songs in the past two years and her tenth studio album.
Before the release of her new album, Swift stayed quiet about it, but for the past few years the singer’s been busy with receiving an honorary doctorate from NYU, writing new songs, and maintaining her relationship with Joe Alwyn.
In spite of not touring for a long while, Swift seems to be doing an amazing job in the financial department. It’s not unusual that after achieving so much success over the years everyone is curious about Taylor Swift’s net worth. It’s really quite enormous and here are all the different ways the pop star has made her millions:
The singer didn’t start out at the bottom with nothing. It is a fact that she had a pretty good beginning in her childhood thanks to her family. Her dad had employment at Merrill Lynch and she grew up in a nice house in West Reading, Pennsylvania before her family decided to relocate to Nashville to help her achieve her dream of becoming the superstar we know her to be today.
In 2006, Swift ‘arrived’ on the music scene with “Tim McGraw,” and the singer didn’t waste any time releasing hit after hit over the past 16 years. In fact, The pop star’s had accomplished seven albums release to make it to No.1 on the charts. According to The Hollywood Reporter, those include:
- olklore: 846,000 equivalent album units in the first week
- Lover: 867,000 units
- 1989: 1.287 million units
- Red: 1.208 million units
- Speak Now: 1.047 million units
- Fearless: 592,000 million units
And I wouldn’t be surprised if Midnights join those albums quite soon.
According to the Grammy website, during Taylor Swift U.S portion of the reputation tour, she earned $191.1 million. With those numbers, Taylor broke her own record of being the woman with the highest-earning U.S. tour. According to Billboard, the tour grossed over $345 million.
The singer created a documentary for Netflix during her Reputation tour that reportedly made her millions. In 2020 Taylor also released documentary Miss Americana and one for folklore in 2020 called Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions.
In 2021, Swift released All Too Well: The Short Film, which was a short film of her single “All Too Well.”
Swift has appeared or has been the voice of a character in several movies: namely, Amsterdam, Cats, The Giver, The Lorax, and Valentine’s Day. Her salaries for these roles has never been revealed, but it can be easily assumed that the sums were pretty large.
While the rest of the planet was dealing with 2020, Swift worked on new music, creating masterpieces that took her net worth much higher. According to reports, she earned $23.8 million from sales generated from the two albums, folklore and evermore, that she released that same year, per Billboard.
Taylor Swift has also put her name on several big brands. Those include:
- Capital One
According to Insider Taylor has her own private jet and it’s worth $40 million and has the number “13” painted on the side.
Swift has plenty of houses that she can call home, but she is well-known for spending quite a bit of time in Manhattan. She has songs that reference the city like “Cornelia Street,” “Welcome to New York,” etc. Reportedly, Taylor owned seven different properties in four different states, and her entire portfolio included real estate in:
- NYC (~$40 million)—she’s basically on track to own an entire apartment building
- Nashville ($5.5 million)
- Rhode Island ($17 million) — if you remember, this is the house that was the inspiration for the song “last great american dynasty.” According to Forbes said she purchased this house in all-cash.
- California (around $30 million)
Swift sold her Beverly Hills cottage for $4 million as well as her Beverly Hills home for $2.65 million in 2018. However, Taylor does still have a mansion in the area that was built in 1934, it is worth around $30 million, according to Business Insider.
Taylor Swift’s total net worth is $400 million, more or less, as reported by Media Music News, which means she has earned more than Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, and Adele. Although, Madonna and Beyoncé have still out-earned her.
