“American Idol” finalist Willie Spence passed away on Tuesday from injuries caused by a car accident, according to a report. He was 23-years-old.
According to local news, the talented singer was in Tennessee at the time of the accident.

Katharine McPhee, who sang a duet with Willie during his Season 19 appearance, seem to have confirmed the news on her Instagram Story as well as posted video footage mourning his death.
“I received very tragic news tonight,” she captioned above a video of her and Spence meeting. “Sweet @williespenceofficial passed away in a car accident. Only 23 years old. Life is so unfair and nothing is ever promised.
“God rest your soul Willie. It was a pleasure to sing with you and to know you.”
Katharine, 38, then added a number of broken-heart emojis as well as reposted the last video Spence shared, which she was singing a Christian song in a car, prior to the accident.

“He posted this right before the accident [sobbing emoji],” Katharine added.
Family, Fans and followers have already began to flood the post with comments mourning the loss of Spence.
“Fly and sing with the angels and dance amongst the stars friend! RIH 🥺🕊️✨,” one fan commented.

“Omg I am so at a loss for words. Not you Willie! 💔💔💔 Wow… 😭🕊️ Rest in Paradise, king 😔,” an actor commented.
Randall Emmett, who is a film producer also paid tribute to his “friend” on his Instagram Story.
“My heart is broken and my prayers go out to his family,” he wrote over a photo of Spence. “I was lucky to have him sing for me live at my home and other events, I will miss you my friend. I know you touched so many of us. I’m heart broken.”
On the finale of Season 19, Willie sang “Georgia on My Mind”, “A Change is Gonna Come” and “Stand Up.” After everything, and even though the judges were inspired by his grand performance, the singer didn’t receive enough votes to surpass singer Chayce Beckham, who became the American Idol.
