Superstar Taylor Swift is reportedly engaged to boyfriend Joe Alwyn, according to media outlet The Sun.
The outlet claims Alwyn popped the question months ago, but the couple have only revealed their news to their inner circle.
“Basically immediate family, and trusted, very old friends,” the source mentioned. “Everyone has been sworn to secrecy, too.”
The source further claims that Taylor Swift only wears her “beautiful ring” in private.
“Again, only a handful of people know details about the wedding and Taylor hasn’t even told some of her team about the engagement,” the informant continued.
“They want their love to stay away from the cameras as much as possible. This is just for them. And if and when they do exchange vows, there most definitely won’t be any Vogue, Rolling Stone or Hello! magazines there. It will be simple and elegant – like them.”
Media Music News has reached out to representatives for Swift and Alwyn for comment.
Back in April 2022, Alwyn addressed gossip alleging he secretly proposed to Swift in an interview with WSJ. Magazine.
“If I had a pound for every time I think I’ve been told I’ve been engaged, then I’d have a lot of pound coins,” he mentioned at the time.
“I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say.”
Back in February 2022, Life & Style was the first media outlet to report Swift and Alwyn were engaged.
While Swift, 32, and Alwyn, 31, have endured privacy as a pair since they began in 2017, this certainly isn’t the first time there have been reports of an engagement between the two.
In January 2020, the singer herself added more curiosity to the rumors with what looked like a large diamond ring on her left ring finger in her Netflix documentary, “Miss Americana.”
“I’m aware people want to know about that side of things,” Alwyn told Vogue back in 2018. “I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people … but I really prefer to talk about work.”
However, the “All Too Well” singer eventually brought Alwyn into her work: He assisted her in co-writing two tracks on her 2020 album “Folklore” — “Exile” and “Betty” — under the pseudonym William Bowery, and also contributed to the songs “evermore” and “Champagne Problems” on “Folklore’s” sister album, “Evermore.”
In her acceptance speech at the 2021 Grammy Awards, Taylor thanked Joe, saying, “Joe, who is the first person that I play every single song that I write,” before continuing, “And I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine.”
In November 2020, the singer mentioned the pressures of maintaining a life in the public eye than Paul McCartney that, “being in the relationship I am in now, I have definitely made decisions that have made my life feel more like a real-life and less like just a storyline to be commented on in tabloids.”
Previously in the interview, she said, “I can’t control if there’s going to be a fake weird headline about us in the news tomorrow.”
